As always, you can join docents for guided tours of the permanent collection and enjoy gallery conversations with undergraduate Gallery Guides, who lead themed explorations of works on view.
Family Day: Two Museums, Twice the Fun

Families are invited to come and explore the Yale University Art Gallery and the Yale Center for British Art—two great museums right across the street from each other. The afternoon includes fun for the whole family with special art-making activities, storytelling in the galleries, and tours for children ages 4–10. Enjoy the collections and learn more about the art right here in New Haven. Free and open to the public; no registration required.

Furniture Study Tour

The American Decorative Arts Furniture Study is a working library of American furniture and wooden objects, housing approximately 1,000 works from the Gallery’s collection. Ranging from the 17th to the 21st century, this selection of chests, tables, chairs, desks, clocks, cupboards, looking glasses, and woodturnings highlights important stylistic developments in American craftsmanship and design.
Weekly tours of the Furniture Study are given by curators from the Department of American Decorative Arts. No advanced registration required, but space is limited. Meet at the Gallery’s information desk.

This Members’ night begins with a Gallery conversation on the work of Andy Warhol led by Jennifer Farrell, the Florence B. Selden Assistant Curator, Department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, followed by the world premiere of Yale Repertory Theatre’s “POP!,” a new musical set in Warhol’s legendary Factory. The performance will be followed by a Talk Back led by the play’s cast and creative team.
