Here are 10 fun activities that your teen can do this summer to beat the boredom that don’t involve digital devices or lazily lounging around the house.

The end of the school year is a busy time for every parent. It’s easy to forget about planning summer schedules because students are usually consumed by homework, sports, or other extra curricular activities. But then, before you realize it, your teen is out of school with nothing to do for the summer.

Most teens might be excited about having an endless amount of time off for two or more months, but that much time spent just hanging around isn’t a good thing. Not only does it mess with schedules and make it harder to get back on track when the school year starts, but it limits your teen’s chances to continue growing and learning outside of school.

Common Sense Media found that teens spend an average of 9 hours a day on online. That’s a lot of time wasted watching Netflix and browsing their Instagram feeds. That valuable time should be used as an opportunity for your teens to learn a new skill or even cross an adventure off their summer bucket list.

It’s time to plan ahead while you can to help your teen beat another boring summer. There are plenty of activities for your teen to try out this summer here in Connecticut.

Watch their #summergoals turn into reality with our suggestions below!
