Connecticut’s professional regional theatre, The Summer Theatre of New Canaan, presents JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT!
This Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical is based on the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. Joseph is the favorite son of Jacob, but his siblings resent the attention Jacob showers upon him and sell him into slavery. Eventually the adored son finds himself in jail; however, his favorable interpretation of the dreams of the Pharaoh win him the admiration of the all-powerful leader, and soon Joseph is one of the most powerful men in Egypt. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to pop and rock ‘n’ roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless. Running time is 90 minutes.
