It may be hard to explain, but it’s a common rule that most food that comes from a food truck seems to have an extra boost of deliciousness. If you have never had the chance to experience the tasty treats from any Connecticut food trucks, you should get on that—and fast!
Below, we’ve created a checklist of sorts with some of the most beloved and unique food trucks that Connecticut has to offer. So bring your appetite, take a look at the list, and start crossing them off.
1. Lobster Craft
I think their title speaks for itself. If you’re looking for some lobster, this is the truck to find. Lobster Craft was founded in 2012 and they have been serving up deliciously buttered lobster rolls ever since. They have multiple food awards and pride themselves on their reviews. They operate their food truck all across the state, but originally hail from South Norwalk. If you are interested in where they will be next, check their website and social media for current information.
2. Chompers
I’m sure that we can all get on board with the idea that fried mac & cheese balls are the best food ever created. Chompers food truck takes it one step further. They have things like bacon cheeseburger chompers and chicken parm chompers. Chompers is their term for their crispy fried goodness. 3. The Comfort Zone
One of my favorite combinations of all time is an ice cold beer and a hot pretzel. The Comfort Zone Food Truck is the perfect place to grab an artisan pretzel. It’s not just your average pretzel though. You can add a variety of toppings like cheese, seasonings, and other favorites, or even dip it in cinnamon and sugar. Other toppings include meatball marinara, chicken marsala, garlic butter and plenty more. The best place to go to find out their location would be their Twitter account.
4. Taco Pacifico
Let’s taco ‘bout it. Taco Pacifico has a truly interesting backstory. The owner, Greg, traveled around LA while writing and publishing his own book. He would pick a new taco restaurant to work in each day. By the end of his book, he had sampled a ton of different taco recipes. After moving back to CT he was disappointed with the lack of authentic Mexican food. He saw a problem and set out to fix it with the birth of the Taco Pacifico Food truck. He opened his food truck in 2010 and has been providing authentic Mexican food ever since. You can usually find him at Clinton Crossing, but make sure to check his Twitter for updates.

Located in Hartford, the Grilla Something Good food truck serves “hot and hearty” meals. This food truck is the place to be for a good sandwich any time of the day. I can’t say that it was the best grilled cheese and tomato soup that I’d ever eaten because my mother would probably kill me. But it was a very close second, and I recommend it. The truck serves a number of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches (add-ons include things like grilled red onion, apple-wood bacon, Jambon de Paris, Guacamole, and the like), tomato soup for dipping, and salads from the restaurant. The truck varies its locations from day to day and time to time, so if you’re in New Haven and hankering for a gooey grilled cheese, check their Facebook page to know where you should be heading.
