Here’s the Connecticut Weekender’s guide to Memorial Day Parades across Connecticut for Memorial Day Weekend 2012.
Ansonia – The 106th Ansonia Memorial Day Parade will be held Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. The parade starts at Nolan Field and proceeds along Wakelee Avenue, down Jackson Street passing in review at City Hall and proceeding to Big Y Shopping Plaza on Main Street.
Berlin – The Berlin Memorial Day Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. and will go down Farmington Avenue turning left onto Masserio Drive, passing the Berlin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10732, take a left onto Veterans Way and end at the Berlin Veterans Memorial Park. In the event of rain, the parade will be canceled and the program will be held at the Berlin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10732 on Masserio Drive at 9:00 a.m
Bethany – The Memorial Day Parade in Bethany is at 10:ooam on Monday, May 28th. The parade will feature antique vehicles, equestrians, and school bands. Ceremony honoring veterans will follow immediately after the parade at Bethany Town Hall, Peck Road. Rain or Shine.
Bozrah – The Memorial Day Parade in Bozrah is Saturday, May 26th at 1:30pm.
Cheshire – Cheshire’s Memorial Day Parade will be on Sunday, May 27th starting at 1:30pm. The parade begins at Highland School on Route 10 and ending at Cheshire High School. Shuttle bus service will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Cheshire High School. The rain date will be Sunday, June 3.
Danbury – The Danbury Memorial Day Parade – Begins at 9:30am at the corner of Rose St. and Main St. and follows Main St. to Rogers Park.
Derby/Shelton – The annual Shelton/Derby Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 27th in Derby at Cottage and Elizabeth streets. It will continue to Shelton.

East Haven – In East Haven there will be a procession and remembrance ceremony with local veterans on the Town Green at 11:30am on Monday, May 28th.
East Lyme / Niantic Memorial Day Parade – The Parade will begin near St. John’s Green at 10 am (across from the Children’s Museum of Southeastern CT.) on May 28, 2012?
Farmington / Unionville – The Farmington parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27th. The Unionville parade, will assemble at 8 a.m. and will step off at 8:30 a.m. The traditional route of the Unionville parade has changed. There will be a brief stop at the War Memorial on Main Street for wreath laying. The parade will end at the gazebo on Perry Street instead of the Hillside Cemetery.
Hamden – The Hamden Memorial Day Parade will be reviewed on Dixwell Avenue near Evergreen Avenue on Monday, May 27th.. Following the parade there will be a wreath ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in front of Hamden Middle School.
Lebanon – In Lebanon, the parade will begin on Sunday, May 26th at 10:00am. This parade always includes some pretty cool floats, along with the traditional marching bands and uniformed officers. The Lebanon Citizen of the Year will also be honored in this quaint, charming small-town parade
Ledyard – The parade will form up at the Ledyard Center School / Fair Ground between 12 and 12:30 on May 27th, 2012.
Meriden – Meriden will march on Memorial Day, May 28, starting at 10 a.m. Participants will start at Washington Park, turn on to Liberty Street, then down Cottage Street and finally on to East Main Street. The parade will end at City Hall. Monday, May 28, 2012
Milford – The City of Milford will host its annual Memorial Day Parade Sunday, May 27, 2 p.m. All units and marchers are asked to assemble at the Daniel Wasson Field parking lot at 1pm. A short ceremony at the gazebo on the green will follow. Monday, May 28, 2012
Monroe – The 2012 Memorial Day Parade in Monroe is scheduled for Sunday, May 27th at 2:00 p.m. The line of march will begin at Elm Street and Route 111 and will proceed to the New War Memorial located on the Town Hall Green where appropriate ceremonies will be conducted. There is no rain date for the parade. Sunday, May 27, 2012
New Haven – The Memorial Day Parade will be held on Sunday, May 27 with services beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the Parade Grounds at High Plains Community Center.
Newington – Join your fellow citizens on Saturday, May 26, 2012, in honoring the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform.
Noank – The Noank Memorial Day Parade will occur on Monday, May 28, 2012. Assemble on Main Street at the corner of Pearl at about 9:30 am. It steps off at 10:00am, and follows a circuitous route through Noank Village and out over the bridge to the cemetery. Once assembled at the cemetery, a ceremony will be held honoring past and present veterans. The parade will then reassemble and proceed along Noank-Mystic Road to the Veterans Memorial at the base of Brook Street where a wreath placing ceremony will be held, short speeches made and the parade officially concludes.
Old Saybrook – There will be a waterside naval service at 9 a.m. at the Dock & Dine. The parade will leave the Stop & Shop parking lot on Elm Street at 10 a.m. The parade will end at the town Green. Marching bands from Old Saybrook Middle School and high school will be featured, along with the New London Fire Department Pipes and Drums, Mystic Highland Pipes and Drums, Old Saybrook Fire Department Honor Guard, the Old Saybrook Police Department’s Honor Guard and squads of marchers. Orange – The Memorial Day Parade will be held on Sunday, May 27, with services beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the Parade Grounds at High Plains Community Center. Sunday, May 27, 2012
Ridgefield – The Memorial Day parade will be Monday, May 28. It will start about 11:30 in the morning at Jesse Lee Methodist Church and proceed on Main Street to Ballard Park, where the closing ceremonies take place. Monday, May 28, 2012

Seymour – Casting of Navy Wreath – Bank Street Bridge – 9 AM. Memorial Service honoring all deceased veterans – Veterans Grove – 10 AM. The public is welcome at all events. All Veterans and Veterans groups are invited to participate.The American Legion Post Quarters at 37 Bank Street (upstairs) is open for coffee and pastry before and after services. Simsbury – The first, the Tariffville parade, will assemble on Main Street at 8:30 a.m., and conclude with a ceremony at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. The second will assemble on Owens Brook Boulevard by Simsbury Bank at 1 p.m. It will end with a ceremony at Eno Memorial Hall. Monday, May 28, 2012
Shelton/Derby – The annual Shelton/Derby Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 27th in Derby at Cottage and Elizabeth streets. It will continue to Shelton.

Wallingford – The Wallingford Memorial Day parade will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Memorial Day at Dutton Park with a service. Groups will begin to march at 9:30 a.m. and the parade will end at Doolittle Park. There will be a ceremony at the end of the parade at which the Gold Star Sisters will lay a wreath in the park and lower the flag. There will be a flyover around 11:15 a.m. by the National Guard. Westfield – The Westfield Fire Department will hold its 117th annual Memorial Day parade on Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m. The parade begins at the fire station on East Street. The parade will stop at the Old East Street Cemetery, the World War II monument and Miner Cemetery. After a service at Miner Cemetery the parade will return to the fire station for refreshments. A ceremony will be held at the Elm Grove Cemetery located in Poquonock beginning at 8:00 AM followed by a ceremony at Veteran’s Cemetery at 9:00 AM. Following the ceremony at Veterans Cemetery, the Memorial Day Parade will proceed to Windsor Town Hall via Poquonock Avenue for the Co-Parade Marshal’s address. The parade usually arrives in the center of town between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM. Any groups, including scout troops or youth sport teams wishing to march in the parade should meet at the corner of East and Pleasant Street between 8:30 AM and 8:45 AM to assemble. Woodbury – There will be a dedication of both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War memorial plaques held at the Cannon Green in Woodbury on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Families and friends of those who are listed on these plaques are invited to attend this ceremony.
Woodbury – Woodbury will be holding their annual Memorial Day Parade on Sunday May 27th at 2:00pm. The parade will start at the Woodbury Middle School and continue onto Washington Avenue, it will make a right onto Church Street and follow down to Main Street, head south on Main Street and end at the Cannon Green.
