More than 35 important European paintings spanning the 14th through the early 20th centuries come to the Bruce Museum from the exceptional collection of the Museo de Arte de Ponce in Puerto Rico, widely recognized as a premier institution of Italian Baroque, French Academic, and British 19th-century art. Among the artists represented are Lucas Cranach the Elder, Peter Paul Rubens, Jusepe de Ribera, Philippe de Champaigne, Jean-Francois de Troy, James Tissot, and Joaquin Sorolla. The exhibition is supported at the Bruce Museum by a Committee of Honor chaired by Juan Meyer, Arianne Faber Kolb, Leora Levy, and Honorary Chairs Alexandra and Steve Cohen, and the Charles M. and Deborah G. Royce Exhibition Fund, and a grant from the David T. Langrock Foundation.
