Washington, CT – Black bears have been sighted in cities and towns across Connecticut with many occurring right here in the northwestern hills. Learn more about our black bear as well as other bear species of North America at The Institute for American Indian Studies on September 16th from 1pm to 3pm.

Wildlife photographer and Master Wildlife Conservationist Gary Melnysyn will provide a glimpse into the history, physical characteristics, lives and future of these magnificent creatures.

Gary will share his remarkable photographs of bears from his various trips throughout North America, from Alaska to Yellowstone, and will share interesting bear facts and stories of his travels. CT Educators may earn 0.2 CEUs.

Space is limited, please call for reservations. Fee: $10 Adults; $8 IAIS Members; $6 Children.
