Join us for a virtual celebration of the life and work of Rudolfo Anaya, a Chicano literary giant best known for his 1972 novel Bless Me, Ultima.

To pay homage to Anaya, and his pioneering work, we invite transborder poets, scholars, and activists Dr. Juan Armando Roxas Joo and Dr. Rossy Lima de Padilla to share with us their favorite poems by Anaya, with a discussion about how his work has impacted them, personally.

Dr. Juan Armando Rojas Joo is a well-known transborder poet, narrator, and essayist from Ciudad Juárez, México, as well as an esteemed professor of Modern Foreign Languages at Ohio Wesleyan.

Dr. Rossy Evelin Lima holds a PhD in linguistics and is an international award-winning poet and is currently an assistant professor Assistant Professor of Translation at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Her work has been published in numerous journals, magazines and anthologies in Spain, Italy, UK, Canada, United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia and Argentina.
