The Beautiful Ones are New England’s premier PRINCE tribute band. Dressed 2 the 9’s, Dean Ford embodies Prince with every fiber of his being, giving you a show as close as you will ever get to the real thing. Not only do they cover “Purple Rain” in its entirety, but included in their set are all the hits from his royal badness’ catalog between the years 1978 and 2015. But it’s more than just the songs. He’s got the look, the moves, and the sounds down jaw-droppingly well. So well, you’ll forget it’s only a tribute.
For four consecutive years, Dean Ford and his musician friends have put on a sold-out tribute to the Purple One at the prestigious, Port City Music Hall in Portland, Maine. Past shows have even featured Prince and The Revolution’s own keyboardist, Matt “Doctor” Fink! Lately, Ford has been sticking with his core band, The Beautiful Ones, featuring Aaron LaChance, Evan Haines, Joe Harding, Jeff Chipman, Gina Alibrio, and Jason Ward. Trust us when we say they’ve got plenty of tricks up their frilled sleeves.
Hear – and see – for yourself what it sounds like when Dean Ford’s doves cry.
Tickets are $35-$38
Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center300 Main St, Old SaybrookThe story of the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center begins on December 5, 1905, a year and a half before Katharine Hepburn was born. That day, a meeting was held at the home of Joseph Cone, printer, performer, and musician, for the purpose of forming the Old Saybrook Musical and Dramatic Club. The meeting was a success and the Club was incorporated eleven months later with a two-fold purpose: the presentation of theatrical performances and the construction of a theatre to house these performances.
