Please join us for the New Haven Preservation Trust 2022 Awards celebrating Fair Haven. Multiple generations from diverse origins have been drawn to the scenic setting of Fair Haven with successive chapters of building, renewal and rediscovery. Surrounded by water on three sides, the handcrafted buildings and engineered bridges have defined a special place for native Americans, oystermen and shipbuilders, merchants and manufacturers, educators and civic leaders.

New Haven Preservation Trust celebrates this past as we honor three representative examples of preservation projects: a 19th century shipbuilder’s house on Perkins Street, two houses reinvented and joined as classroom space for the Cold Spring School, and a gateway to Fair Haven, the Grand Avenue Bridge.

Arts in CT presents the Westville Performing Arts Center Summer Camp 2022 for Weekly Arts Camp starting July 5- August 12 (choose which week or multiple weeks you would like to come to weekly arts camp, multiple weeks are discounted).
Teen Day Arts Camp for ages 13-18 (improv class, commercials, stage and film)-July 5-July 21.
Musical Theater Arts Camp ( ages 6 and up will be doing the junior production of The Wizard of Oz)- July 11 – July 29, and Dance Camp – Teaching Ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and modern for ages 6 and up. From July 11-July 22.

After a three-year hiatus due to Covid, the Guilford Art Center is thrilled to announce that Craft Expo 2022, its annual contemporary craft and art show, will return to the Guilford Green! Held July 15-17, 2022, Craft Expo is one of the most successful and long-running craft shows in America. Over 170 modern makers from across the country will display and sell their fine craft in a variety of media, including Clay, Food, Glass, Leather, Metal and Non-Metal Jewelry, Wearable and Non-Wearable Fiber, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Wood.

“We are so happy to welcome back our artists and supporters to the Guilford green this summer for Craft Expo” says Maureen Belden, GAC Executive Director. “There is great excitement to gather together again and to experience art and artmaking in person. People tell us one of the greatest parts of their Craft Expo experience is interacting with the artists and learning more about their work and creative process. And the artists are also so thankful to be able to share their work with our visitors. It will be a very positive experience for everyone involved.”

Popular activities for Craft Expo visitors include a Family Art Tent for young visitors, silent auction of exhibitor-donated work, live craft demonstrations by Guilford Art Center faculty and students, and sale of Guilford Art Center student work. Attendees can enjoy a snack or meal in the food truck area, which will also feature live musical entertainment throughout the weekend.
Craft Expo is the Guilford Art Center’s single most important fundraiser, providing proceeds that support all of its educational and community programming.

Guilford Craft Expo 2022 Hours: Friday, July 15, 11-7:30pm; Saturday, July 16, 10am-7pm; Sunday, July 17, 12-5pm. Admission: Adults $9, Seniors $8, GAC members, children under 16, and active military Free. Multi-day pass $15. Cash and check only for admission.

The Guilford Craft Expo is held on the Guilford Green with the main entrance at 33 Whitfield St., Guilford CT 06437. The show is outdoors, rain or shine. Free parking and shuttle bus service is available at Exit 58 of I-95 at the commuter lots or Adams Middle School on Rt. 77 (233 Church St.). On-site parking is available at St. George’s Church, 33 Whitfield Street, for $10/day, or you can find free on-street parking at other spots around town.
