Being a parent around the holidays can be extremely hectic. Between visiting family, corralling your kids, and making sure you get everywhere you need to go, they can be a downright logistical nightmare.
We’ve decided to make things a little easier for you by compiling this list of Easter egg hunts and Easter breakfasts so that, hey, at least you don’t have to do the researching too. Use this list as your jumping off point to plan the perfect lead up to Easter morning.To make it a bit easier, we’ve compiled these by county so you can find the events closest to you.
Fairfield County
Train Rides with the Easter Bunny—Danbury Railway Museum, Danbury
March 24, 25, 30, & 31st
The Danbury Railway Museum will be hosting train rides with the Easter bunny on a vintage train! Each child will receive a small gift from the Easter bunny while on their journey through the museums railyard. There will be a train departing every 30 minutes between the hours of 12:30 – 3:30. It is $12 for kids ages 2 and up. You can make a reservation on their website. Bring your whole family and enjoy a fun train ride with the Easter bunny.
Darien Community Association Easter Egg Hunt—Darien
March 30th
The Darien Community Association’s annual Easter egg hunt is a perfect way to get your family in the holiday spirit. The hunt will start at 10am so they encourage you to show up on time as this is a popular event. The Easter bunny will make a special appearance at some point in the morning. Parking is limited so make sure to carpool to save space and money. Each car load costs $20. Make sure to bring your Easter baskets!
Fairfield Easter Egg Hunt—South Pine Creek Soccer Field, Fairfield
March 24th
This annual Easter egg hunt is a sure fire holiday event. This event is for children in preschool to 3rd grade. It will be hosted at the South Pine Creek Soccer Field. The hunt will start promptly at 1pm, but make sure to arrive early to spend some time with the Easter bunny. A $1.00 donation is requested to help benefit the Town Youth Council fundraiser. “Don’t be late, the eggs go fast!”
Farmington Easter Egg Hunt—Farmington Miniature Golf and Ice Cream Parlor
March 31st
Their 21st annual Easter egg hunt is among the best! Bring your children to hunt for over 15,000 eggs! All it takes is a $3 donation for Companions Animal Rescue. There are different start times for different age groups, they are as follows:
- 11:15 – ages 2 and under
- 12:00 – ages 3-4
- 12:45 – ages 5-6
- 1:15 – ages 7-9
- 2:00 – Sensory Friendly and All Accessible
Other events include free face painting, bounce house, $3 tie-dye vanilla ice cream cones, pictures with the Easter bunny and rides of the Roaming Railroad. Make sure to bring a basket and an appetite as the ice cream parlor will be open!
Stamford Easter Egg Hunt—Stamford Museum
March 31st
The Stamford museum is hosting a new Easter egg adventure through their woods trail. They have four separate sessions which allow 25 kids per session to ensure a “fun, safe event for all!” Kids will start at gathering eggs in the woods then head over the the Overbrook Nature Center, where they can meet with live animal and then make a small craft! You must pre-register so make sure to call the museum. Price and sessions are as follows:

- Members: $20/child: free admission for member adult
- Non-Members:$25/child/ 1 free adult admission for every paying child; additional $5 for adult guest

Litchfield County
Kent Park Egg Hunt—Kent Town Hall, Kent
March 24th
This egg hunt will be help outside of the Kent Town Hall. This is open to children 10 and under with two separate egg hunt age groups.

- Ages 6 to 10
This event starts at 10am and the rain date is March 31st
Terryville High School Easter Egg Hunt—Terryille High School, Terryville
March 24th
Terryville High School with be hosting their egg hunt at 1pm for children ages 1-10. This is free for Plymouth and Terryville families, so don’t miss it! Bring your baskets and cameras to capture your children’s excitement when they get to meet to Easter bunny!
Woodbury Egg Hunt—Hollow Park, Woodbury
March 24th
Woodbury is bringing the Easter bunny right to you! This hunt will start at 10am sharp! The Easter bunny will be arriving a little earlier so make sure to get there ASAP. This event is tons of fun for kids up to 10 years old. Take your child’s picture with the Easter bunny before or after they race around for hidden eggs in Hollow Park.
Torrington Elementary School Easter Egg Hunt—Torrington
March 31st
This egg hunt starts on Saturday at 10:30am for all children 10 and under. They are going to have candy, prizes and more! There is a hidden “Wonder Egg” that only one child has a chance to bring home. Make sure to register beforehand because you don’t want to lose your spot.
Hartford County
City Church Easter Egg Hunt—Bushnell Park, Hartford
March 24th
This event is hosted at Bushnell Park in Hartford at 11am. They are giving out 13,000 eggs! They will have face painting, music and raffles! Head over to their website for more information.
Trolley Museum Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt—CT Trolley Museum, East Windsor
March 24, 25, 30, 31st
The Trolley Museum has put together an Easter day scavenger hunt. While the event opens at 10am, the Easter bunny will be around from 11am – 3pm to take pictures with children. Each child who completes the scavenger hunt will receive a special egg with a surprise inside. Prices as followed:
- Children Under 4 – $3
- Children 4 – 12 – $10
- Adults – $12
- Seniors – $11
Imperial Oil and Plumbing Egg Hunt—South Windsor High School
March 30th
This takes place at the South Windsor High School at 9am. Please bring a basket or bag to collect your eggs in. This is a free event but they ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the South Windsor Food Bank. Specific age group times are as followed:
- Age 2 – 10:00 am
- Age 3 – 10:15
- Age 4 – 10:30
- Grade K – 10:45
- Grade 1 – 11:00
- Grade 2 – 11:15
New Britain Youth Museum Easter Egg Hunt—Youth Museum, New Britain
March 24th
The Youth Museum is hosting an egg hunt for anyone! Yes, this event is free so make sure to put it on those calendars. They will have an Easter egg hunt with prizes, basket raffle, cookie decoration, crafts, games and more! The event starts at 12pm and goes until 3pm. Visit their website for more information.
Southington Jaycees Egg Hunt—Jaycee Park, Southington
March 24th
Join the town of Southington on their annual Easter egg hunt at 1pm sharp! All children 0-10 are welcome to participate. Make sure you are on time in order to experience the highly anticipated arrival of the Easter bunny. Check out their website for more information.

Town of Hebron Easter Egg Hunt —Gilead Hill School, Hebron
March 24
Hebron parks and recreation is hosting an egg hunt at Gilead Hill School at 8:30am. There will be a bunny breakfast at 8:30am – 11am. The egg hunt will take place at 9:15am and 10:30am. They ask if you are planning on participating in the egg hunt that you arrive a few minutes early. They will also have some crafts, food and games. Bring your family down and have a great time with the Easter bunny. Prices as followed:

Town of Vernon Easter Egg Hunt—Henry Park, Vernon
March 30th
The town of Vernon will be hosting an Easter egg hunt at the Henry Park softball field at 9:30AM. Come and hunt for thousands of eggs with your children 8 years and younger. Pre Registration is not required and is free to all!

City Church Easter Egg Hunt —Woodrow Wilson Middle School, Middletown

This event is hosted at the Woodrow Wilson middle school gym at 10am. There will be bounce houses, raffles, kids activities and of course, candy. Head over to their website for more information.
Ray of Light Farms Easter Bunny Visit—East Haddam
March 24th
This popular event is hosted at the Ray of Lights farm in East Haddam. On March 24th at 11:30 the Easter bunny will be giving Ray of Light Farms a visit. It costs $10 for any child participating and pre registration is needed. There will be raffles, wagon rides and fun for the whole family. Don’t miss this awesome family event.
Valley Bible Church Easter Egg Hunt—Haddam
March 24th
Valley Bible church will be having an “eggstravaganza” on March 24th at 10am. This event is free to everyone and will have games, eggs hunts, bounce house, face painting, crafts and food. Please bring a canned food for Haddam Food Banks.
Wadsworth Glen Easter Egg Hunt—Middletown
March 24th
Wadsworth Glen, located at 30 Boston Post Road, Middletown, is hosting their annual egg hunt on March 24th at 10:30am. It is open to the public and free, there is no reason to miss out! Visit their website or call for more details!

Redeemer Church Easter Egg Hunt—Southbury
March 31st
Redeemer Church is hosting an Easter egg hunt at 10am. There will be plenty of eggs for all children participating. Children in 5th grade and below are allowed to joining in. Participation is free and there will be other events to keep everyone busy! Don’t miss it!
Dino Egg Hunt Easter Egg Hunt—Montville
April 7th
The Nature’s Art Village is hosting an egg hunt for the 7th of April at 10:30am. Hunt for thousands of eggs and have the rest of the day to explore the village! They ask that you arrive a little early if you wish to participate in egg hunting. You MUST register for this event.

This German-American club wants you to “hop on over” to their all you can eat pancake and egg hunt event. This takes place on March 25th from 10:00AM – 1:30PM. Their egg hunt will be from 1:00PM – 1:30PM. Bring your family and fill up with a wonderful breakfast and egg hunt! Please visit their website to make reservations.

Town of Groton Easter Bunny Meet & Greet—Groton
March 31st
This event will be hosted at the Groton Municipal Building at 235 Meriden Street at 10am sharp! They ask that you bring your own basket and a gently used book to donate to children’s books of Groton. This event is for children ages 2-12; the Easter bunny will be there for pictures so make sure to bring a camera.
Public Library of New London Easter Egg Hunt—New London
March 23rd
The New London Library is hosting a Easter egg hunt, storytelling and craft making free of charge and doesn’t require registration. The event starts at 10:30AM and is open to children ages 2-5. Visit their website for more information!
Norwich Business District Easter Egg Hunt—West Park, Norwich
March 31st
West Park is the venue for the Norwich Easter egg hunt for children 4 years old and younger. The event will start at 10:00AM. Kids ages 5-8 will start at 10:15AM. There are over 5,000 eggs to look for so make sure you are on your game! If you find the grand prize egg you can win a special prize!
Old Mystic Village Easter Egg Hunt—Mystic
March 31st
You will be able to find this hunt of the village green where Mr. Bunny will be located. Everyone will have a chance to meet the Easter bunny and individual egg hunt times ensures a safe and happy time for all.

Windham County
Brooklyn Middle School Easter Egg Hunt—Brooklyn Middle School
March 31st
Breakfast is served! Head over to Brooklyn Middle School for breakfast at 8:30am – 10:am. The egg hunt will follow breakfast at 10:15am, the hunt is open to Brooklyn children 10 years and younger. Tickets to breakfast are $5 per person and $20 for a family of 5. Make sure to stay after the egg hunt for other activities!
Killingly Community Center Easter Breakfast—Killingly
March 24th
This event opens up at 8:30am and goes to 11am. There is a breakfast, magic show and free balloon animals! I know you won’t want to miss that.Tickets $5/person or $20/family of 5. Breakfast will consists of sausage, scrambled eggs, and pancakes along with coffee and orange juice, yum!
