Hartford, CT – The Dave Matthews Band returned to CT this past weekend playing two shows at The Comcast Theater in Hartford. As much as I wanted to see the first show, night two was epic. Probably one of the best concerts I’ve ever gone to right behind Paul McCartney at Yankee Stadium . Their shows are always different, no two shows are ever alike. It shows that they do care about their fans by putting on a unique show every time, and the fans (like myself) return the favor by seeing them live over and over again. There was an opening act named Carolina Chocolate Drops. They are a Blues meets Folk that is blended with some Bluegrass(they had a banjo). They played about 8 songs to set the mood. Pretty good if you like that music.
Stanley Jordan who performed on “Lie In Our Graves” on night is a 52yr old Guitarist/Pianist from Chicago. He as been around since 82′ and his style of music is mainly Jazz/Jazz Fusion. He has performed with greats like Benny Carter and Dizzy Gillespie. He has a unique way to play the guitar he uses his Vigier Arpege Guitar by “Two-Handed Tapping.” This basically is playing a melody and cords at the same time. He is also a pretty smart guy he recieved a BA at Princeton.
