12 Mind Blowing Food Trucks in CT

Connecticut is home to tons of food trucks. This new trend has provided CT with some of the most delicious food. They used to be native to only larger cities but have now made their way across the entire state.

It may be hard to explain but it’s a common rule that most food that comes from a food truck seems to have an extra boost of deliciousness. If you have never had the chance to experience the tasty treats from any Connecticut food trucks, you now have a checklist of places to check out.

Take a look at this list of 11 food trucks scattered across the state and start checking them off the list.

1. Lobster Craft

I think their title speaks for itself, if you’re looking for some lobster, you know where to go. Lobster Craft was founded in 2012 and they have been serving up deliciously buttered lobster rolls ever since. They have multiple food awards and pride themselves on their reviews. They operate their food truck across the state but originally hail from South Norwalk. If you are interested in where they will be next, check their website and social media for current information.  

2. Chompers

I’m sure that we can all get on board with the idea that fried mac & cheese balls are the best food ever created. Chompers food truck takes it one step further. They have things like bacon cheeseburger chompers and chicken parm chompers. Chompers is their term for their crispy fried goodness. I’m sure your mouth is already watering so make sure to check their Facebook for updated events. I tried to find a common meeting place for them, but they seem to bounce around to make sure everyone gets a chance to partake in their amazing food.

3. The Comfort Zone

One of my favorite combinations of all time is an ice cold beer and a hot pretzel. The Comfort Zone Food Truck is the perfect place to grab an artisan pretzel. It’s not your average pretzel though, you can add a variety of toppings or even dip it in cinnamon and sugar. Other toppings include meatball marinara, chicken marsala, garlic butter and plenty more. 4. Taco Pacifico

Let’s taco ‘bout it. Taco Pacifico has a truly interesting backstory, the owner, Greg, traveled around LA while writing and publishing his own book. He would pick a new taco restaurant to work in each day. By the end of his book, he had sampled a ton of different taco recipes. After moving back to CT he was disappointed with the lack of authentic Mexican food. He saw a problem and set out to fix it with the birth of the Taco Pacifico Food truck. He opened his food truck in 2010 and has been providing authentic Mexican food ever since. You can usually find him at Clinton Crossing, but make sure to check his Twitter for updates.

5. Grilla Something Good

Located in Hartford, the Grilla Something Good food truck serves “hot and hearty” meals. This food truck is the place to be for a good sandwich any time of the day. Head over for breakfast for an awesome egg sandwich, or for lunch to get a “big ol’ burger”.  It even says “Breakfast, Lunch and Beyond” on the side of their truck. You can find them at 1943 Berlin Turnpike, make sure to check their Facebook for any opening and closing information.

6. Wolfskis

Holy pierogi, Wolfski food truck has made quite a name for itself in just 3 years of business. They started making pierogies to tighten the bond between their family tradition and honest culinary craft. You can order kielbasa, buffalo chicken, bacon cheeseburger and plenty more when you visit their pierogi truck.  Check out their events schedule on their website or Twitter to stay up-to-date on their whereabouts.

7. Greekin’ Out

Do you crave a good gyro or baklava? I remember the first time I tried some traditional Greek food, and of course, my life changed forever. I kicked myself for waiting so long to try it. Greekin’ Out not only has an awesome name, they have awesome food. You can expect to find menu items like greek fries, spanakopita, souvlaki, and kopani village salad. If you have never tried any Greek food before, don’t wait, meet up with the  Greekin’ Out food truck to fall in love with some amazing food.

8. Cupcake Brake

The Cupcake Brake is primarily located in the Hartford Area and provides customers with freshly baked cupcakes consisting of the best quality ingredients. They allow you to customize your cupcake by allowing you to choose frosting, fillings, and toppings. Some flavors include lemon, carrot cake, red velvet, and a variety of fillings and frostings. Each cupcake is $2.50 so make sure to grab a few!  The best place to find their location is their twitter.

9. Tipsy Cones

The invention of alcohol-infused ice cream rivals the invention of the iPhone. How did we not think of this way earlier? Tipsy Cones provides alcohol flavored ice cream, even though we all get excited for this tasty and tipsy treat, during the cooking process the ice cream loses a lot of its alcohol content. The ice cream serves as a delicious way to enjoy the flavors of our favorites adult beverages. This is something that should be added to every bucket list if you want to find their truck schedule make sure to check out their website.

10. Hapa Food Truck

Hapa offers a cross between American street food and Asian Pacific cuisine. The menu consists of things like Korean short rib rice bowls, ahi burger, and Furikake fries. Their menu creates a journey for your taste buds by offering food that many people never cross paths with. If you want to enjoy some deliciously unique food, the Hapa Truck is the perfect spot for you. They have a schedule on their main webpage so make sure to check out their next location.

11. Melly P’s

Did someone say panini? Melly P’s is cooking up some fresh paninis for anyone that visits. Just by looking at their menu I already know that I would get the Italian Bomb! Other menu items include grilled zucchini, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and sundried tomato. Check out their menu to see all of their exquisite food. They have an event schedule laid out on their website to make it easy for you to follow them wherever they may go.

12. The Cheese Truck 

This cheese truck roams primarily in New Haven but makes trips all around to festivals, charity events, and private events. If you have a craving for an amazing cheese sandwich and tomato soup, look no further. You can enjoy a classic grilled cheese with tons of toppings like guacamole, arugula, pulled pork, bacon, and more!
