When most people think about Christmas, they think about lights, and how even just a few strands of simple, white Christmas lights can transform a yard into something magical. And of course, the more, the merrier. If that describes your attitude towards holiday displays, then the Festival of Silver Lights in Meriden was made for you.
Get your whole family into the holiday spirit by bringing them to see this magical display of more than 350,000 white lights. You and your family can enjoy the spectacular display of more than 200 figures and buildings decorated with twinkling lights from the comfort of your car, listening to your favorite holiday songs. The drive takes no more than 20 minutes.
While you drive through the park, you will notice displays in trees, on the ponds and nestled in other natural habitats. The displays are as creative as can be, with a cute family of squirrels in the grass, a pack of camels in a field, a mama and baby swan in the middle of Mirror Pond, trains, a globe, and countless bedecked trees. These and many other displays are illuminated throughout the landscape, and kids will love finding the hidden ones. (This would make for a great game of “I Spy!”)
If you’re looking for even more fun when the drive ends, take a walk to Santa’s Workshop located in the front of the park. Once there, take a peek into the windows to see a miniature Christmas village display—accompanied by even more twinkling lights.
Want to see the display in the daylight? No problem. Hubbard Park is open during the day, so take a walk along the pond and see the animals and characters up close.
Hubbard Park is one of the true gems of Meriden, so make sure to take your loved ones for a drive through this dazzling display of lights to put everyone in the holiday spirit.
