Lantern Light Tours at Mystic Seaport Begin November 28
MYSTIC, CT - Tickets for Lantern Light Tours, a New England holiday tradition at Mystic Seaport, are on sale now.
Performances are November 28 and December 4 – 5, 11 – 12, 18 – 20 and 26 – 27. Tours begin at 5 p.m. and leave every 15 minutes.
Lantern Light Tours is a 70-minute progressive play that takes its audience back in time to Christmas past. Visitors tour Mystic Seaport on foot and take a horse-drawn carriage ride, experience a traditional tavern dance and may even catch a glimpse of old St. Nick.
This year’s performance, “Hope Amongst the Stars,” takes visitors through the town of Greenmanville on Christmas Eve, 1876. The Gardner family has struggled each Christmas since the War Between the States when its beloved Captain Gardner was lost. No proof exists of his death, and, for 11 years, the family members have wondered what happened to their father and husband. Audiences will take a journey through Greenmanville and discover a town hurt by war and healed by the hope and love of family.
Tickets are $26 for adults ($24 for members) and $19 for children ages 4-18 ($17 for member youth). A $2 handling fee will be applied to each ticket. Tickets can be purchased online at www.mysticseaport.org/lanternlighttours, by calling 860.572.5322 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or at the Museum’s main entrance. Visitors must indicate the need for a handicap-accessible tour when making a reservation. In keeping with the holiday spirit, Mystic Seaport kindly requests that each person attending Lantern Light Tours brings a donation of a non-perishable food item. All donations will be given to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.
Sponsorship for Lantern Light Tours is provided by Spriggs & Twigs Landscapes, LLC.
