Family Overnight Featuring a Mystery at Mystic Aquarium
MYSTIC, CT – Ever wonder what Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration’s animals do at night? Find out on November 13, during the aquarium’s Family Overnight – now featuring an aquarium mystery to solve.
A bucket of fish is missing, with only a puddle of water, footprints, fingerprints and some feathers left behind as evidence. Using water sampling, fingerprint and footprint identification methods and feather samples, kids will determine who is responsible for the disappearance of the fish. Guests will also play games and tour the exhibits.
Afterward, families will pick a place to sleep next to the circling sharks, colorful clownfish or even the elusive octopus. Continental breakfast is provided the next morning.
Crafts and activities are geared toward children ages 5 to 12. Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by a paid adult. Guests should bring a sleeping bag, pillow and flashlight.
The event costs $60 per adult, $50 per child. Pre-registration is required. Call (860) 572-5955 ext. 520 or visit mysticaquarium.org under “Fun and Learning, Family Programs” to register.
