Our famed contemporary art series relaunches in January- come celebrate its history of firsts at September’s first Thursday.
FEEL THE BEAT 5-8 pm
Hartford Advocate’s 2007 Grand Band Slam winners, The Bus Drivers, cover rock hits from MATRIX’s 25 year history
OFF THE WALL 5-8 pm
Interactive art activity inspired by MATRIX artist Sol LeWitt. FREE T-shirt to the first 300 people who participate.
SMALL TALK 6 pm and 7 pm
Drop in for 15-minute MATRIX exhibition intros with our new Contemporary Curator, Patricia Hickson
FILM 8 pm (Outside in Gengras Court)
See how MATRIX artists Cristo and Jeanne-Claude created a 24-mile long silk fence in the film Running Fence (1978).

Celebrate our new re-installation with a members-only discussion with Chief Curator, Dr. Elizabeth Mankin Kornhauser. Coffee, tea, and pastries will be served in the Café from 10:00 am.-11:00 am. with a lecture to follow at 11:00 am.
