Splash into science as the Connecticut Science Center celebrates the opening of its KidSpace exhibit gallery this Saturday with a Science Center-wide Water Play Day just in time to cool off.  The event takes place this Saturday, Aug. 29th at 12pm.

Water rockets will zoom through the air, expert bubble-blowers will reveal the secret to creating the perfect bubble, water streams will spray colored balls into a giant water vortex, and visitors will experiment with fountains and LEGO-brick dams to test their hydro-engineering skills as they make waves at the Science Center.

A day of water play fun has been created for the whole family!  All activities are free with general admission. Activities throughout the Science Center include:

Water Play in KidSpace: Explore the six different water play exhibits located within KidSpace.  Build a dam out of LEGOs and try to block or control the water flow.  Explore the physics of water flow in the 1000 square foot water play area.  Toss bright colored balls into the giant water vortex and more.

Bubble Science: Investigate the science behind how and why bubbles are made in this interactive LIVE science demonstration. When is the last time you discussed bubble density? (located on the Science Center’s Rooftop Garden)

Water Rockets: Investigate the best water/air ratio needed to shoot water rockets up into the air. What better way to cool off than allowing the fuel (water) to refresh participants? (located on the 4th floor outdoor terrace)

Stream Table: Manipulate and design your own water flow experiment on a 22 foot long river bed. (located in the River of Life Exhibit Gallery)

KidSpace is made possible by the Pitney Bowes Foundation. The Connecticut Science Center is located at 250 Columbus Blvd. in Hartford, CT.  For more information, click here.
