Meet the Artists & Artisans

Mothers Day weekend will be the opening arrival of juried fine artists and handcrafters presenting their creative winter productions of beauty and skill to grace and energize Milford center . Many new participants introduce renewed, or unfamiliar styles, free to the public. On site demonstrations of painting, drawing, wood carved water and shore birds, portraiture, caricatures, spinning hand dyed yarn, mosaic frame making, tatted-shuttle lace, knitting, wood turned vessels, glass making.

May Market at Hill Stead Museum

Enjoy Hill-Stead’s lush grounds and historic setting as you browse over 50 vendors offering hard-to-find perennials & shrubs, antiques & quality crafts for the home and garden. Expert horticulturalists and Master Gardeners are on hand to help select plants and garden implements.

Mother-Daughter Birding

This Mother’s Day bring your mother or your daughter, or just come on your own for a morning walk to enjoy the birds, wildflowers, dogwoods and other signs of spring in forest and field. Please call (860) 536-1216 to register. $3 members; $5 nonmembers.

Moms Ride Free at the Shore Line Trolly Museum

Take the Trolley to the Turn of the Last Century! Moms ride FREE all day Sunday on the odest continuously operating suburban trolley line in the United States. The museum features a collection of nearly 100 vintage vehicles as well as artifacts and documents from the trolley era.

Mother’s Day at Quassy

25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
When: Sun, May 10, 8pm

In this Tony award-winning new musical, six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.
