STOMP!
When: Fri Mar 20 7:30pm; Sat Mar 21 5:00pm & 9:00 pm; Sun Mar 22 2:00pm & 7:00pm
Where: The Shubert Theater, 247 College Street, New Haven, Connecticut 06510
STOMP returns to New Haven with some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured, and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans. To purchase tickets call tickets.com at 800-228-6622 or click here.

Mystic St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: Sun, March 22 – 1:00-2:00pm
Where: Downtown Mystic, CT
Mystic Connecticut will host a Saint Patrick Parade on March22nd starting at 1PM. Over 650 marchers scheduled to participate and for us it is a first for our corner of Connecticut. Everyone is cordially invited to attended. Please note arrive early as parking is anticipated to be a problem. The parade accessible off Interstate 95 at either exit 89 or 90. Wines From Portugal
When: Fri Mar 20 6:30pm – Fri Mar 20 9pm
Where: Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration
Enjoy fine Portuguese wines and gourmet cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Trad Dart and his skilled culinary team, then sample top cordials. It all takes place on the floor of the Challenge of the Deep exhibition, which features tools of deep-sea exploration and photos, video and artifacts from Dr. Robert Ballard’s ocean expeditions. Tree Wise
When: Fri Mar 20 – 7pm; Sun, March 22 – 2pm
Where: St. Joseph’s College, 1678 Asylum Ave # 1, West Hartford, CT
Tree Wise, the children’s book by Antoinette Abbamonte, a Deaf actor, has been adapted by Garrett Zuercher, a Deaf playwright, and will be performed by the world-renowned Little Theatre of the Deaf, who have been seen on Sesame Street and The Disney Channel. You will see and hear every word!

Family Overnight at the Mystic Aquarium
When: Fri Mar 20, 7pm – Sat Mar 21, 9am
Where: Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration
Ever wonder what the Aquarium’s animals do at night? Bring your sleeping bag, pillow and a flashlight for an overnight adventure in the Aquarium’s underwater world. Play games, tour the exhibits, enjoy snacks and get a great view of the beluga whales. Then pick a place to sleep next to the circling sharks, colorful clownfish or even the elusive octopus. Children must be accompanied by a paid adult. Crafts and activities are geared toward children ages 5 to 12. Cost: Members: $45 adult, $35 child (ages 5-12); Non-members: $55 adult, $45 child (ages 5-12). Register here.

The Machine (Pink Floyd Tribute)
When: Fri March 20th, 8pm
Where: Toads Place, 300 York St. New Haven, CT
America’s top Pink Floyd show, has forged a 20 year reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd, while creating another legacy all their own. The New York based band focuses on making every show an authentic Floydian experience for their fans. Known for performing a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire (complete with faithful renditions of well known hits as well as obscure gems), The Machine’s stellar musicianship, dramatic lighting and video, and their passionate delivery sets them above and beyond the rest. Fire as a Tool
When: Sat. Mar 21, 11am – 2pm
Where: The Institute for American Indian Studies, 38 Curtis Road, PO Box 1260, Washington, CT 06793
Small, controlled fires and stone tools were used to make traditional Native American dugout canoes. Utilizing this technique under the guidance of Jamie Leffler, Primitive Technologist, you will begin to carve out a simple wooden bowl or ladle. Stone scrapers will be available for use; you are encouraged to bring a pocketknife as well. Space is limited, please call for reservations. Ages 14 and up. CT Educators may earn 0.3 CEU’s. Fee: $25; $20 IAIS Members.

Fairy Tale Ball
When: Sat. March 21, 7pm-midnight
Where: Ocean Beach, 98 Neptune Ave, New London, CT 06320
The 2009 Fairy Tale Ball is the Museum’s Annual Fundraiser Gala celebrating the creativity in each of us! Dine and dance among the storybook-themed tables. Bid on fabulous items or special vacation get-away! This evening is designed for adults-only. The table designers are excited to share their creative tablescapes with the younger-crowd at the Artrageous Kids’ Art Fair the following day. Cost is $100 a person, and there is a cash bar. Make your reservations through a visit or call the Museum at (860) 691-1111.

42nd Street
When: Sat. March 21, 8pm & Sun. March 22, 2pm.
Where: Warner Theatre, 68 Main Street, Torrington, CT
A jazzy, dazzling paean to Broadway of yesteryear and based on the classic 1933 Warner Brothers movie, 42nd Street tells the story of famed Broadway Director Julian Marsh who faces one obstacle after another as he prepares his biggest show during the depths of the great Depression. Filled with great songs including You’re Getting to Be a Habit with Me, We’re in the Money, Lullaby of Broadway, Shuffle Off to Buffalo and 42nd Street, this show has it all!
